Trauma-informed therapy for capable people carrying too much

For adults in Georgia and California navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, grief and major life transitions. Dr. Stephanie Caine also sees teens and couples, by secure video telehealth.

You may be here because…

If some of this sounds familiar, you are in the right place. And if what you are carrying is not listed here, it still counts.

  • People rely on you, and from the outside you look like you are handling it.
  • Underneath, you feel anxious, overwhelmed, flat or on edge, and rest does not fix it.
  • Something that happened, recently or long ago, still shows up in how you react.
  • You have talked it through before and understand it, but it has not shifted.
  • A loss, a divorce, a move or a career change has knocked you off balance.
  • Perimenopause or a new season of life has left you not quite feeling like yourself.

What therapy can help change

Therapy is not about becoming a different person. It is a place to slow down, understand what is happening, and find a way of carrying things that costs you less.

  • Understanding your reactions

Making sense of why you respond the way you do, so it feels less confusing and less like a personal failing.

  • Room to process, not just cope

Working with what has been held for a long time, including experiences that talking alone has not reached.

  • Steadier days

Practical ways to manage anxiety, stress and emotional fatigue in the middle of a full life.

  • Clearer direction

Space to think through a transition, a loss or a decision without having to hold it all together while you do.

Approach

How Stephanie works

Renew Counseling & Consulting is Dr. Stephanie Caine's private practice, open since October 2022. The work centers on integrating faith, psychology and evidence-based therapeutic practice, with trauma as its featured specialty.

It starts from the assumption that the ways you learned to cope made sense at the time. Therapy is a place to understand those patterns and, at a pace that feels manageable, to put down what you no longer need to carry. Faith is part of that conversation only if you want it to be.

  • Brainspotting

Levels 1–3, plus Expansion and Child-Centered training. Body-aware processing for trauma and stuck material.

  • Integrative Mental Health Counseling

A holistic approach that brings nutrition and lifestyle alongside therapy rather than treating them separately.

  • Exposure Response Therapy

    For OCD and anxiety disorders.

  • Faith-integrated counseling

Christian-based care for clients who want it. Never assumed.

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a therapy approach that uses where you look to help you process what you feel. With your therapist alongside you, you hold an issue in mind while your gaze rests on a particular spot, which can help the brain work through material that talking alone struggles to reach.

Sessions are quiet and largely self-directed. You do not have to narrate the experience in detail for it to shift, which is often a relief for people who have told their story many times without feeling different afterwards.

Trained in Brainspotting Levels 1–3, plus Expansion and Child-Centered Brainspotting.

Questions people ask

How do I get started?

Request a consultation and Stephanie will reply within two business days. It is a short conversation about what you are looking for, practical details, and whether working together is a good fit. If it is, intake happens in a secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal.

Do you see clients in person, by telehealth, or both?

Telehealth only. Renew is a virtual practice: all therapy sessions take place by secure video through SimplePractice, and there is no office location for in-person appointments. Before your session, you will receive instructions for joining online. You need to be physically located in Georgia or California at the time of each session, because those are the states where Stephanie is licensed.

Do you work with couples and teens?

Yes. Stephanie sees adults and teens individually, and couples. If you are unsure whether she is the right fit for a teen or for your relationship, ask during the consultation.

Do I have to talk about faith?

No. Stephanie offers Christian, faith-integrated counseling for clients who want it, and it is never assumed. If you would rather faith not be part of your therapy, it will not be.

What do I need for a telehealth session?

A private space where you will not be overheard, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet or computer with a camera. You also need to be physically located in Georgia or California at the time of the session.

Is therapy the same as coaching?

No. Therapy is licensed clinical care for emotional and mental health concerns. Coaching, which Renew also offers, is forward-focused and is not clinical treatment. If you are not sure which you need, the consultation is a good place to ask.

Can I email Stephanie about what I am going through?

Please do not send clinical or personal health details by email or through the contact forms on this site. They are not secure channels. Anything clinical is shared in the secure client portal once you begin.

What if I need help right now?

Renew is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911.

How long is a session?

Sessions are 60 minutes.

How much does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?

$200 for an individual session and $275 for a couples session. Renew does not accept insurance.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment time is reserved for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify Renew Consulting at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, through the SimplePractice portal or by contacting Stephanie directly. With less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged $75 for an individual appointment or $100 for a couples appointment. If you miss an appointment without notice, you will be charged the full session fee: $200 for individual therapy or $275 for couples therapy, or any different rate agreed in writing. Illness and emergencies happen, and Stephanie may waive a fee in those circumstances or for a first occurrence, so please get in touch as soon as you are able. These fees are your responsibility and are not submitted to insurance as therapy services. The full policy is part of the practice agreement you sign before starting.
